Waves platinum would be a good start.
URS has some great plugs. Waves SSL or API will work too.
There are some FREE!!! au plugins you can pick up as well .... do a goggle search for the massey au tape saturation. Also try a search on the fishfillets free plugs ....... ie blockfish etc.
Then there's universal Audio ...... but you've got to get the pci card.
Most plugs allow you to download a trial so you can check em out. That's the best way to choose what's right for your next purchase. As a matter of fact, I'm getting ready to trial some of the Trtone Digital stuff that some slutz have been talking about ....... we'll see how it holds up.
The logic plugs are getting better too.
Autotune, ez drummer, bfd (I know .... "the dark side")
Do you need softsynths too?
Again, waves platinum has a some great eq's , comps and limiters.
