Well so you have some kind of response I can tell you what I have tried the U99 with. I don't have UA pre's but have tried these:

Out of all those I typically like the Cranesong Flamingo regardless of the singer with my U99. I love that pre for lead vocals.
For BU's I always use different mics, pre's and comps.
