The thing is, there's really no single definition of "studio".
stu·di·o: a room or set of rooms specially equipped for broadcasting radio or television programs, making phonograph records, filming motion pictures, etc.
-or-
the workroom or atelier of an artist, as a painter or sculptor.
-or-
a facility for sound recording
Lotsa different definitions; I don't think the OP has a problem at all. Just an opinion (or maybe not even...).
