That pot sounds like a good candidate for the loob.
remove the control knob and first clean around the base of the pot with a q-tip. Spray VERY minimally around the base and turn the pot its full rotation, back and forth a bunch to work it in. Let air dry. rinse, repeat. put the knob back on and you should be good to go.
