Are you sure you mean 'latency free' and not 'latency compensated'?

I mean, when tracking all you have to do is have your outboard before the A/D conversion. When mixing latency gets less of an issue and then you can insert your outboard in a mix while your DAW software compensates for any induced latency.

Cubase4 is my friend for this.
