i used to listen to a lot of mixes, before i even knew what a mix was (i didn't get into recording music until my late twenties)

the mixes i really studied have been;

1. wrecking ball (emmylou harris) by daniel lanois

2. i'm with stupid (aimee mann) by jon brion and jjp

3. nick cave's stuff mixed by tony cohen

4. magnolia (aimee mann) by jon brion and bob clearmountain

5. pet sounds (beach boys), by i'm not sure who

as you can tell, i'm another jon brion freak, albeit that the question was about mixers rather than producers

my gratuitous trevor horn reference would be tatu stuff
