Put foam in it and the mics sit wedged between the top and the foam. Works great and has protected the mics well.

I also use the pelican 1060, with their pick and pluck foam.
I had to add thin pieces of foam above and below the pick and pluck piece, to have some foam holding the mics away form the top and bottom of the case.
A good way of cutting foam is an electric turkey carving knife.
