I have never seen or heard of hoops being out of spec BUT I have encountered numerous shells which were either out of round or the wrong diameter. If Taye are sourcing their shells from o/seas rather than from Keller then it is quite possible that that's where the problem is.  |
The 16" tom is 15 7/8 to 15 15/16" O.D. meas. across and 90 degrees at 3 different locations.
The center of the each lug nut(tension rod nut) to the o.d. of the shell is 5/8"
basically placing the center holes of a matching hoop at 17 1/8" to 17 5/32"
The taye hoop is center to center 16 31/32"
