Hmm, that sounds strange. IMO the microQ and Virus sound totally different. Virus is soft and dark whereas microQ is angry and sharp. Maybe you tried both synths with manuel schleiss soundsets? He programs the same sounds for all synths.

Why didnt they?
That would have increased the price of Blofeld. It takes alot of working time to program a plugin like Virus control and update it basically all the time to keep up with all the changes in operating systems and the DAWs which it is reported to support. I have been following the path of virus ti since it was announced and it was not an easy job for access to make the plugin work and they are basically married with the thing now. When they stop supporting it, there will be huge moan all over the internet. This is probably also the reason why they have not introduced a new version of virus yet. It was alot easier before when B and C series didn't need any software plugin to be supported.

The idea of integrating synths into DAW is good but it can be quite problematic. It becomes even more unreliable when you have several different synths "integrated", at least via USB. IMO waldorf made the right choice. Currently they don't have any extra time to support such a plugin integration. They are busy building the Stromberg.
