What's unique (and different from the Millennium) is that instead of an Either/Or switch between tube/solid state, there is a blend knob that lets you totally vary the balance between tube/solid state. Both the tube and solid state circuits are operating all the time, and you can combine the tonality of both in whatever balance seems to work for the mic/source/taste.

No way to really know until having a listen, but it seems like a great idea in theory. The real trick is how the individual preamps sound and how well they nailed the phase alignment between them, which like I said earlier, is not necessarily easy to do in the analog domain. If they got that right, this could be a really cool addition to the arsenal.

Just by design, it almost has to be capable of a unique sound.
