Tony, respectfully (of course) i say:
if that's not a assive undertaking will you loan me the 5K?
right now i'm drooling over getting a control surface,..th tascam us-2400 probabaly,..but i have to wait until i have $600 to spend,..
so for young guys like me,..5K is a lot.
i'm finishing college right now, and have basically no job except any engineering work that does come my way (even though not having my own studio makes work a lot less)
I think for the money plugs cost, hardwre costs, HD costs, it IS digi's job to pretty much give us what we would like,..because there's a lot of other software out there that DOES do it,...
IDEA:
maybe pro tools shoud offer "PT LE" (as is)
PT HD (super upgraded and powerful)
and
pro tools mixsoftware (HD software that does all we wnt it to, and suports other hardware, for the same price tag as sonar and such.
