| ok, just did a quick a/b comparrison and here's my take in a very quick, manor.
I pulled up a couple of the analog factory presets and compared them side by side in logic with their full counterparts. a few presets sounded identicle. A couple sounded not quite identicle, but upon further tweaking in analog factory of filter and resonance, they sounded pretty much the same.
my guess is same synth engine, but the tweakble parameters like filter and resonance didn't always translate to the same settings as the original....no biggie in my opinion, as when tweaked, they do pretty much sound identicle.
I'm not a computer programmer, don't know how they did it, but i'm guessing each of the synths original engines are represented in analog factory, though i'm not sure how you can capture the presets without the full routing and modulation etc.
Interestingly, in my quick test, i couldn't actually find many of the analog factory presets in their full version counterparts, i'm not sure if they have different presets or i didn't look hard enough, as the naming conventions are slightly different, in the full versions there are often programmers names associated with the preset name, and in analog factory it seems to be just the preset names. I was under the impression analog factory contained selected presets from each library, not ones that aren't included in the originals library. If that's the case, that's a little lame
I still really enjoy the v collection and think it's worth it, as i enjoy analog synthesis and the process of making sounds and like tweaking more than the minimal parameters availible on analog factory. it seems like with analog factory you get a LOT of presets, that you can tweak minimally, whereass the counterparts offer a rich pallet beyond the fixed presets
