| I just got the API a few months ago....... I do love it. I can't fathom not having it, after using it. It took me a couple weeks to get it, but once I started to understand how it grabbed, it just got really musical.
The nice thing is the THRUST selections. That really makes this thing for me..... for instance, I always felt like the SSL/SMART grabbed too much ultra low bottom, and pumped as a result (sometimes in a good way). With the API, I feel like the THRUST helps me control that a bit.... almost like a really flexible sidechain, built in. Also, it has the feed forward, or feedback style selection, which is huge!!
Not to mention, it has color. I love lots of color, and the API has it. It's not "clean" or sterile at all......
That being said, I do still love the SSL and the 33609...... the API is just a whole other thing that I happened to really gel with. |
