| Also it depends on what you are recording. If you are getting right up to the grill on a guitar amp, it won't need nearly as much gain as a distant recording of chamber music. If you are doing a lot of quiet sources you might need a more ribbon-friendly preamp. I don't own the Duet though but this is just a general observation.
