Just a thought I'd like to throw out here regarding credit card security and something that most people don't ever think about:
Some people don't feel "secure" by submitting their payment details on a non-SSL web site, and I am one of them, but at the same time, we'll walk into a store and swipe our cards, and all of that information is sent across the phone lines (just like the internet) UNENCRYPTED! If you use a debit card, and you enter your PIN number, that part is encrypted by the pinpad itself, but none of the other information is... beingmf, mentioned sending by fax... that also, IS NOT encrypted... anyone can receive these transmissions by a simple phone tap...
