| thanks! I thought the same thing... the nice resonance with the 4047. I didn't notice it until I double tracked the vocals then it really stood out, in a nice way, like the "every time" line at the front of the song. I do however like the way the SM7 sounds with bass rolloff at the preamp (the third file) better than set flat, for some reason.
in all the takes the SM7 was set to flat bass, flat presence. but in the third file there's a high-pass filter at the preamp. the preamp was also set to hi-z input in the third file, but lo-z in the 2nd file. I haven't been able to discern a clear difference, yet, between high and low impedence on vocals with the SM7
I'm still trying to figure out if the solo 110 is an ideal vocal preamp for me, (what do you think?), or if something else I don't own yet might be better (or even my sytek) but I guess that's another thread all together |
