The whole "reissue" drum thing has me a bit crazy. The only reason that it makes sense for Fender and Gibson and the various guitar companies to offer a "reissue" model is that the originals are so outrageously priced. For example, you could buy a nice 59 Les Paul from a vintage dealer and probably pay $200K to maybe even $750K. Or you could get a reissue VOS that lists for something like $5K. Still a bit high, but oh well.
The drum market is totally different. Even the top notch stuff like the really clean, vintage Gretsch Roundbade or Ludwig 3plys are still cheaper than a new kit. Seriously, isn't that reissue 3ply kit from Luddy in the $7K range? Are they kidding? Go to the most expensive vintage drum shop you can find and get the real deal for less than half that price. Get lucky and find a nice kit on cl or ebay for under a grand.
