I'm reviewing it on my blog later this week probably. The reason why I'm waiting is because I need to do some more direct comparisons. I just got the new McDSP de-esser as well and haven't had a chance to put them up against each other yet.
Re: CPU intensive & latency. Yes. Good de-essers tend to add delay. This adds a lot. There are options for it, you can choose between instantiating low and high delay versions of it.
Re: pops & clicks. Never noticed on my Intel Macs. Actually pops and clicks sounds like someone's running out of CPU juice?
Control-wise there are a lot of functions, with a simplify button if that's your cup of tea. Despite all the controls I think it's very quick to work with, not like the Digirack de-esser where you basically tweak one knob, but compared to other de-essers with a little more controls. It can be very precise. I also think Sonnox are marketing it right - it's more than a de-esser.
I won't give you a final verdict because I haven't decided on one yet. There's little doubt that it's a good de-esser (huge step up from previously mentioned Digirack), the question is more about if it's better than Eiosis E2 and McDSPs dito.
Hang in there just a few more days and I'll let you know
