Thanks for the advice nDmusic and Bob Ohlsson. Now that I've started moving stuff around and placing foam, I've found it really isn't very subtle at all. I've been surprised at how much the sound improves or gets worse with the placement of different pieces in the room. I will use my ears to get the best out of what I have available.
