dunno bout that, techno, electro and derivatives will be with us for a looooooong time.
I see it as a new form of free jazz. (idea about arrangement, role of improvisation, letting go of classically based harmonic structures) The cool thing about techno still, comparing it to most jazz is the improvisation coupled with raw energy.
