A musician spends 15 years in lessons and countless hours learning the craft.
Unless it helps you, don't do it for free. Really... you will be viewed as someone with less to offer than someone who charges. Unless this guy SWEARS he will hire you on his big break (unlikely) or unless he has PAYING contacts it's a bad idea. Unless of course you need practice on a real project -- then go for it.
You are in for hours of listening to the video guy's crap on how it's not right.
Most of the time, it's not right until you run out of time. Welcome to the real world of working for film/ commercial guys.
