I have an Otari MX-80 and the capstan motor needs to be oiled. I have been advised that sewing machine oil is acceptable but I'm a bit skeptical. I can get the official oil from Otari but would have to buy 9 bottles to meet their minimum order. I'm willing to do that though if it's the right thing to do. Is oil selection critical in this case?
