That sounds like a good idea and nice view of the guitar. Small condensors don't bug me, but I have been trying to back them off more and at least with the Schoeps I am using it in omni quite a bit. I am guessing those Siemens pres sound pretty cool. Are they similar to a solid state Telefunken?
