I read somewhere that the Duet sounds similar to the Ensemble and not as nice as having a Rosetta 800. It may be a great way to go for thx1138.
The Echo Audiofire, nor any Echo products, are designed by M-audio. In fact the opposite is true. Echo actually does design work for other companies like Mackie. Read some more Echo threads here at Gearslutz. You'll find that most people love them and consider them to be worth way more than what you pay for them. I'm about to buy the Layla3G or Audiofire 8 myself, and I currently own an M-audio Delta 1010. I definitely wouldn't be moving UP to an Echo product unless I had read so many people saying that they are a great bang for the buck and most certainly better than most any M-audio product.
