Congrats on the release.
The biggest difference compared to the US would be two things. First, Finland is a lot smaller with only 5 million people total. So with 15K units sold youīre going gold and 30K gives you platinum. So donīt expect to get filthy rich....but.....
..... a good cut with a major artist can generate good airplay for a long time and that pays fairly well, especially on the public service radio and TV channels.
ASCAP should recieve your royalties without problems. TEOSTO, which is the Finnish equivalent of ASCAP do a good job collecting and paying forward.
Second, a good portion of the music is dominated by domestic stuff in Finnish although english is coming more and more. Donīt be surprised if your song is translated into Finnish.
Most popular styles are rock, metal and domestic "schlager" although most radio is typical top40.
Non-musical, worthless info. Finland is a wealthy country with a high standard of living and top notch social wellfare. Home of Nokia and a couple of F1 world champions.
