Apparently a lot of the ambience and reverb was done at Totenham House in Wiltshire. The whole of body snatchers was recorded there as well, if the stuff I was reading was correct.
This is literally 2 minutes from my family home, and we sneak into the grounds, we later found that one of our visits was at the time of their recording, which was very cool for me when I found out.
If anyone is up for the mission of getting sneaking there then I'm always up for it. Know some secret routes into the grounds, but not into the big building, though I have no doubt we can find a way in somewhere... we'll see, it's 'abandoned' but in waiting to be converted into a huge golf club, which may have started already!

The whole area and the forest it resides in is so full of rich history. Lots to do with Henry VIII and Jane Seymour as well.
