AFAIK (and I've been attacked for saying this before) Antress plugins are coded using Synthmaker, with GUIs ripped off from other designers (I've heard UAD been mentioned before). The developer has gone on record admitting this, and has attempted to justify it by saying copyright laws aren't the same in his country.
They're NOT emulations of the hardware. Whether or not they're usable is up for debate, but there's no way a "proper" developer would want to buy them out. I've heard lots of people say they sound "good" but no-one has said they sound "like the hardware" - at least, no-one who uses the hardware regularly.
Note that I've never used them personally, I don't have an audio PC - just followed the debates online.
