Yes. It's the texture of the voice that makes it sound so big, of course great gear and somebody like Botnick were also factors.
But I think that despite all 'cultural' differences, Morrsion was the same type of singer that Elvis and Sinatra were: Velvety, big tones and a TOTAL commitment to the performance. And most importantly: dynamics.
