I was surprised, I have to say. The dbx stuff I've come across before (mainly the newer stuff) was definitely not to my taste. I didn't like the 163 compressor much, either.
The 118 came with a 100 subharmonic boom box (in the same style, wooden panels etc), but the jury's out on that... don't know how useful it is yet.
