If you ARE serious about learning to play the guitar you will need to establish a relationship with the instrument and play, play, play. Your fingers will find the mark eventually....if you have the patience to persevere.
And if you intend to incorporate it into a pro or semi-pro endeavor I strongly suggest that you find yourself a teacher early on to at least get some basics.......or you could end up like me.
I picked up my first guit (Silvertone) at the age of 12. But because I never sought out a teacher, 44 years later I still don't know squat about the theory of what I'm playing.
