Advice on studio layout?

Hi slutz!

Long time lurker here. I'm just about to start building a new room in a basement of an apartment block. I will mainly use the room for mixing and song writing so i'm not going to worry too much about sound proofing but rather focus on getting the room to sound to work in.

I'm on a budget so i will have to try and make it as good as i can with what i've got. I managed to score 44 sheets of heavy rock wool ( the rigid kind) 180 x 120 x 11cm (about 10 m3 in total) and also a big pile of card board half pipes that i'm thinking of using as panels to not make the room compleatly dead.

My main issue at this stage is room symmetry. in the left back corner there is a toilet and a built in closet.

So should I build a wall where the closet is and thus get a room that measures 4,45 x 4,90 m and get an extra room that will be roughly 2 x 3 m or should i not worry about the room not being totally symmetric?

Anyone care to elaborate?
