It's not more "flexible", it's more useful.

The MC-77 is like walking off of 45th St. in NYC on a fine October morning in 1977 into Record Plant Studios... the current black thing that sports the numbers 1176 is a modern miscreation that bears little resemblence to an 1176LN of the same era.

The MC-77 has "the sound" the recreation has "the look" [and way better marketing!!].

Decide with your ears, not with your eyes and you'll make the right choice every time.
