So I've got waaayyy too many snare drums, and I've got to get rid of a few before I can justify any new ones.
A quick explanation: I am an employee of Spaun Drum Co. These are some of my personal drums that I've made over the years, and they are being sold right now by me, not Spaun.
First up is an 8x14" Clear Acrylic Snare, you can see a pic at
http://www.headofdestiny.com/spaun-acrylic.jpg.
It just so happens that this is the first Spaun acrylic drum ever made. It's big. It's loud. It rocks. Lots of body with a nice bite to it.
SOLD.
Secondly we've got a 7x14" Carbon Fiber Snare. This thing is a beast, check out the picture
http://www.headofdestiny.com/spaun-cf.jpg. Diecast hoops on this sucker, earplugs recommended. Seriously, this is the loudest drum I have ever owned. Oddly, it is also has the most sensitive snare response I've ever heard-- you could play some serious brushes on this thing, or just stick one of those Aquarian heads that the metal guys like on it and watch the guitar player cry when his Dual Rectifier won't turn up any louder...
SOLD.
Then there's the 6x14" Oak Solid Stave Snare. The shell on this is 5/8" thick, constructed of vertical pieces of wood instead of plies. This has got a
flawless high-gloss finish on it, which shows off some really nice wavy wood grain. See it here
http://www.headofdestiny.com/spaun-oak.jpg. This drum has a very thick, meaty tone with very few overtones. This thing records like a dream.
SOLD.
Lastly, I've got a 12x8" (yeah, 12" deep, 8" head) clear acrylic octabon/concert tom. Use it to get in touch with your inner Neil Peart/Simon Phillips/Mike Portnoy, or just use it to fake a bongo sound with drumsticks... Forgot to shoot a photo of this one, but let me know if you're interested and I'll take care of that. This is a fun toy to have around, it sounds cool, and if I didn't already have another one I'd sure as hell be keeping it. It has an L-Rod bracket mounted directly on the shell (no RIMS mount). $150.
A couple more things: My roommate is a professional photographer, so yeah, the drums look extra slick in the pictures. Rest assured that they are accurate and current. The drums are all in very good shape, clean, and have brand new Evans G1 Coated heads on them (mildly used G1 Clear on the octabon). The drums are available for local pickup/inspection if you're in the Los Angeles area, or shipment to anywhere in the US for $20.
Feel free to send a message if you need any more info!
