I was impressed with these headphones for a few reasons. Yamaha purchased the right to use Ultrasone's S Logic technology in their headphones, and upon first listening through them, I was actually quite surprised how good they sound, especially at their price point. First, I was actually surprised at the clarity and depth of the low end response in these. They sound tight, and fairly articulate, again as compared to other models at this price point. Second, I like the design, they are comfortable, and attractive. My only large concern with these would be that I could see them becoming very fatiguing over any sort of extended periods of use. Even after listening to a few different songs of different genres, I seemed to feel fatigue had already begun to set in. Anyways, I hope this helps in your decision.
