| I had a very similar thing happen to me about 2 years ago. I had a studio and had a "partner" that split everything with me. I'd bring in bands and he'd bring in bands and we'd split the work and money. Well eventually I caught him bringing in bands while I was at my day job and also caught him charging bands twice what we normally would, use me as the excuse and the keep the overcharge amount. Eventually I "fired" him. He called everybody I had ever worked with and was spreading all kinds of shit. He did his best to bring me down and it worked for about 6 months. As of now he records about 2 bands a month and I'm booked solid through April and into May. The point is not to worry too much. If you're a good person and he isn't then people will eventually see through him. |
