I don't use Cubase, but Melodyne can run on its own also...unless you get just the plugin. The plugin will bog down your sessions like a large VST, not horrible IMO. The program is user friendly once you have put a ton of time in learning how to use it because there is a ton to learn. I am definitely not trying to talk you out of it because I love Melodyne, but it is a b!tch to learn. I would get Melodyne UNO instead of the plugin, do the correction outside Cubase, import it back in. I started a thread on Melodyne help, search Melodyne DVD and you will find it. Good luck...
