RME 400 and 800 are very good and rock solid on the Mac. Both have ADAT. No different to PCI in terms of reliability.
M-audio will give you nothing but headaches, their drivers have never worked on OSX properly. Also, I'm not sure how well Soundbalde integrates with Core Audio.
Alternatively, you could ditch both and go for the Prism Orpheus.
