Why not?
A pitch is a pitch. If you are using the same heads, there is no magic other than getting it to a desired tension. No different than tuning a guitar string.
I haven't used one, but know a couple pro drummers and drum techs who use and like them and other devices like it.
I wish I'd had one when I was a drum tech.
