| I had guessed the NE was Mic 1 before reading your post with the answer. I much prefer it to the Royer in your samples. The Royer sounds muffled in comparison. The NE seems to flatteringly represent the whole frequency range. I might prefer the Royer on a clean ice-pick tele, but even then I'm not sure. I could see how a Royer would take a raspy high-end edge off.
Which side of the NE did you use, the label (i.e. darker) side? How did you position those mics?
If you can afford it, keep both. If I had to pick one, I'd keep the NE.
