| Yeah. That can be a slippery slope. I had a couple of managers, as a musician. The first I had to get rid of for a couple of reasons -- she was representing the interests of the record company rather than my own, and she didn't do anything. To make sure she didn't come back at me stupid I had to buy her out of her contract for an amount we could agree on. It wasn't nice, but it was safer that way.
A managers work is often hard to quantify. If they get your name out there and you start getting a lot of work, they can feel they have a right to your future income regardless of their future work.
