I'm going to be jumping on the wagon very soon, and am weighing my racking options. I'm leaning more towards the Averill or Purple, but the cost of the API 6-spacer is more attractive.

Talk of "poor noise specs from having the power supply integrated into the box" is exactly that..."talk". I haven't found any noticable difference by switching from a BAE 6 slot with separate PSU to a new API 600b. As far as the fit and finish is concerned, I found the API better than the BAE. It is also more portable. On the flip side , the BAE PSU is able to power 2 boxes and has hard wired sockets insteads of circuit boards for ease of servicing but those are the only advantages as far as I see.
