I am going to check out the Sony and the Zoom H2. I like the idea of surround recording for taking stuff in for ambient music manipulation later.

The Sony does look to be the most professional out fo the bunch I mentioned. If the Zoom sound quality is almost on par with the Sony then I think the price difference makes the Zoom much more attractive.
