I recently got an Alesis io14 Firewire interface and so far i'm very pleased and have no complaints. The io14 has four mic inputs but its bigger brother the io26 has eight mic inputs and might be worth checking out. iO|26 Both are very reasonably priced and are expandable via ADAT.
