I don't know if this is your issue, but I have 2 firepods. Every once in a while I am getting sound that stutters and sounds like a "helicopter." (That's the term that seems to be popular). I am on PC by the way. I do not have a TI chipset on my firewire card, and it looks like that may be the problem. I am going to try wiht my laptop tonight, because my card on my laptop is a TI chipset. When I used only 1 firepod the problem stopped. But anyway, I remember reading something about the macbooks switching chipsets for the firewire, does that apply in this case?
