My normal go-to mics are Senn e604 for all toms, then I listen from there....alot of the time I end up replacing the highest tom mic with a SM57, and sometimes end up using a D-112 for the floor tom. 421s rock too, but I find them less convenient to set up than the clip-able 604s....
