Yeah, a bare back wall is probably not what you want. Absorption is good, or depending on how far the drums and/or the mix position are, diffusion could work as well. A mix of the two might be ideal.

Another possibility is to put your acoustic treatments on stands so that you can move them where they are most useful in that moment.
