well, i'm no pianist, but i have been looking into buying a good hammer-action MIDI master keyboard.

i wouldn't need sounds for my setup, just the best "feel" i can get for clients / production partners to play with.

i have never played one and wouldn't know what to look for in "feel" if i did (since i'm not a pianist!) but i am intrigued by the Doepfer LMK series.

check them out. they look pretty damn serious, albeit stripped-down and somewhat industrial in styling... which appeals to me to be honest. made in Germany is rarely a bad thing too.

for less than €1500 you could get the top-of-the-range LMK4 from thomann.de.

if you do buy one please let me know as i would love to check it out, with a pianist in tow!
