I was not impressed at all by the beats on the 1st page (the red bar on the left).
Y'know I am too hard on myself. I don't consider being a pro at this, because my day job pays the bills just fine... and I always doubt my own skill level. I don't really take it seriously, so I'm able to experiment and have fun with beats. At the end of the day, I guess I've avoided making those cookie cutter beats. I try to dig a bit deeper than that, and touch some type of emotion. Or if not that, then make sure you can't help but to stand up and 2 step... leave some sort of impression that... "that was different"
I mean I can't touch the pro level sound of the tracks on that site, but the actual beats, sound and technique is all very similar. It all makes sense now how people always come to GS and ask "how did he get that sound" or "what are you using", "give me your kick settings" because everyone wants that sound. Well, it's all sounding the same, so I guess people are succeeding!
It really makes me want to take this more seriously though. Anyone can talk a good game... but if that is the result there on that site... that's the creme of the crop right there?
Yeah, I'm going to listen to more of the tracks on the site before I talk too much shit around here.
Just my opinion btw, no bunched panties I hope. (unless anyone share that opinion?
