If you look at the website of the tape project, they have a custom-built set of reproduce electronics attached to a Technics 1520. The pleasure is high, but I suggest a shootout, second generation analog versus digital copy of the original analog tape.
I would like to hear a level matched reel (pun intended) shootout between a second generation 15 IPS 1/4" NNR copy optimally reproduced versus a 9624 copy of the original tape. Versus the original, I guess!
