Well, an 003 "control surface" has I/O too... wouldn't you just use that? Maybe the rack has different Ins and Outs and that's why you want to do that? Certainly LE systems don't allow you to use two different boxes for I/O... that's an HD only thing in the land of digi... maybe the 003 has a stand alone control surface mode, but again, why wouldn't you just use it as interface and control surface since it can do that?
